View Full Version : 50 gallon L36"x H24" x W12" too narrow?

October 26th 05, 03:38 PM
Greetings, I'm thinking about purchasing a 50 gallon L36"x H24" x W12"
tank for a marine aquarium. I'm concerned that 12" is a bit narrow.
Does anyone have any comments on a 12" width for a 50 gallon aquarium.
Thanks so much for any response.

Yes, for a reef tank, that's extremeley narrow. Why are
you considering such a narrow tank?

I am just getting started and this set up used if up for pretty cheap
(~$300). But I don't want it if it's not going to work properly. Thanks
for the advice.

Ryan,

My 29g and my 55g were both 12" wide, and came out very nice. Please
visit my site to see the images. Narrow tanks are great for macro
photography.
