red streaks are normally water quality issues. Have you been changing
any water?? If not you might want to test your water. Also, is the
surface moved to allow oxygenation?

According to this web site: http://www.mu.edu/~buxtoni/puregold/home.html
RED STREAKS
Two reasons for red streaking, ammonia and/or nitrite spikes in the
water or the water has really degraded. That means the gills are most
likely to be fried and dark red. Using a harsh medication on fried gills
is not a good idea and will stress the fish further. The only thing
that helps in this case is water changes every two or three days for a
while. And then the right sized tanks with gravel cleaning/water
changes once a week.
The second is systemic bacteria infection and the gills would more
likely be lighter red to pink. Antibiotic food and/or oxolinic acid is
indicated along with water changes. Healthy, unstressed fish are quite
resistant to bacteria. Unless a new fish has been added without
quarantine.
I was told by local fish dealer that this could be due to stress as
well. Both my Shumbkins died very quickly, and they had red streaks on
their fins as well...

umm my water is fine I already posted the results That was the first
thing I tested the tank itself is about 6 moths old so the ammonia and
nitrites aren't spiking due to cycling a tank Yes the water is aerated
there is an air stone and the filter drops the water down into the tank
like a water fall. I've been treating the water with macryn two and a
anti bacterial disinfectant for fish and it seems to be working I
noticed the lines were less yesterday I've been treating since sunday so
maybe she'll pull through
