I have a Rena XP2 Canister filter for my 46 Gallon Tank. Recently it's been
slowing bubbles into the tank making it rather cloudy. It also makes some
noise while it's doing this. My understanding is that it is caused by
bubbles in the filter but I have followed the recommended instructions to
try and self prime the filter and it's not resolving the issue. Anyone know
what I should try next? Or would anyone recommend a different type of
canister to try?

Thanks

You might have some sort of leak in the hose going into the filter, but that's
more likely to cause water on the floor than air in the filter. I would replace
the gasket between the top and bottom of the filter housing. That's the most
likely place for an air leak. Also look for salt buildup on the connections and
filter housing. If you have an leak that allows air in, it usually also allows
water out.

I prefer Fluval canisters.
