I saw a 'Regal Tang' at London Zoo in February, it was what I was most
taken by in the whole place, in fact my eyes filled with tear and I
went back to it later. I wrote a poem using it as a symbol, but while
researching this fish I've seen basically two different fish and
wonder if some of these sites are a bit uninformed- or worse, that the
zoo has got the wrong fish in the tank? Are the Regal Tang and Blue
Tang the same? (An illustration I have of a blue tang seems rounder in
the body. The fish I saw was an incredible blue - hence my brine
production - and didn't have any strips of black or yellow. I've read
that they vary, but I don't want to print my little pamphlet of poems
up, called The Regal Tang and then put an illustration of a Blu Tang
on the cover in case they're not the same. I'd really appreciate it if
someone authoritative could help me out and put me straight.
Lastly, I live in a small home with no room for pets, really, but
wouldn't mind this fish. How long do they live? I'm completely
ignorant of these things and it is the one detail I never got hold of.
Many thanks for all replies.
