View Full Version : Starting out in South Africa... again.

Hi to all
I live in South Africa and I am looking to start up a marine aquarium
again. I had one about 2 years ago (nano tank), but a burst heater and
resulting electric shock brought an abrupt end to my lovely hobby. I'm
over that pain now, and I think it's time to go at it again.
I'm also quite excited to be part of an aquarium mailing list again -
it was quite fun and informative last time around...
I'm looking for some other people living in South Africa (preferably in
the Cape Town region) to get in touch with.
Thanks!
Henno

Sien, die ding is - ek is 'n student en my kapitaal is bitter laag. Ek

LOL.
If you don't mind I'll reply in English as my Afrikaans spelling is
attrocious!
Join the Forum and meet some of the locals, Ryan, the webmaster ships in
Live Rock which you will have to pay for. The rest like Frags and Caulerpa
and even fish and shrimps, snails critters etc. can be had from other
hobbyists. Just ask them, they're a really friendly bunch.

Any advice as to how much live rock (in kg) should go into a nano tank?

I've never done a Nano before, others here will be able to answer your
question. I would think as much as you can possibly get in there. Does it
have a sump?
