Leaky Tank or Evaporation?

HI, Recently my 10 Gallon tank started to leak excessevely so I use
that as an excuse to buy a new 15 Gallon tank. Now I think this one is
leaking too.

My question is: How much water should I loose to exaporation every
week? I do not have a top on the tank. Right now I would say I loose
1.5" in height every week.

I have a 15 gallon (usa) tank too and what you say sounds about right. I
have to add approximately 1 inch every 4 days, and I have about 1/2 of the
tank's surface covered with a pane of glass practically all of the time.
Also - water temperature probably significantly effects the amount of
evaporation. My 15 gallon is a heated tropical tank. Good luck and later!
