Pleco question

[Suzie-Q]

Since plecos don't really swim around much, do they need the
same room that other fish need. I have a pleco that has grown
to about 5" but he's in a 2.5 gallon tank. Should I move him to
the 10 gallon tank. (I haven't yet because there's already an
algae eater in there and there's not much algae.)

How does he even turn around in such a small tank? He needs at least a 30L
with some driftwood and live plants.

Maybe he can't move and that's why he doesn't move much. He'll
probably be way more active in a bigger thank. You can get a bigger
tank for pretty cheap. My 80L one I just got rid of cost me $60 new,
and it was good quality. I sold it for $30 on eBay. Check out tanks
for sale in your area on eBay, you could probably get a good deal, and
your pleco will love you for it.
