Question is - how big are these things; that it would cost 110. US funds?
Far more then what hes asking for RO/DI unit $81-

This is a fraud. You can report this listing to eBay.
This is called "Final Value Fee Avoidance".

On eBay you pay percentage fee from the final value
the idem was sold for, but excluding the shipping cost.
A lot of eBay users hide huge profits in shipping cost
and this way they do not have to pay FVF that big.

Also, there is a change a unsuspecting buyer will not
read the auction carefully expecting standard shipping
price (about $3-15 for a RO/DI unit) and bids on anitem
not realizing the total price he/she will have to pay.

Of course it could also be a typo ($130 instead of $13)
but I doubt it. Ask the seller the question if the
shipping cost is right or a mistake, and if it is not
a mistake report it to eBay - this is just another con.

Sorry, I was typing too fast and made a lot of mistakes.
I wanted to type "$13-15" for the standard shipping.

Every time if you are not sure if the seller on eBay is
honest or is he trying to rip you off on shipping you
can compare other seller listing offering similar items.
If they can ship UPS/FedEx and it cost them $15 but
some con artist is trying to charge you $130 you know
what is going on.

You could also go to the UPS/FedEx site and use their fare calculators
to check the cost.

For example, a 20 lb package by UPS Ground from New York to Los Angeles
costs $15.45. If you go UPS Next Day Air, it costs $90.56.

It could be that the seller is shipping express - you may get it cheaper
if you ask him to ship it ground. (Takes only 4 days NY->CA)

Buddy is somewhere in the south east US. We have had tons of stuff shipped
up , never ever has it been even close to $130 or $110 for shipping - There
is no possible way its a typo - as he states in his email -"i was suprised
to see how much it was"

I got mine from melevsreef - http://www.melevsreef.com/ro_di.html and I
couldn't be happier. It is also MUCH less expensive than similar units I've
seen in the catalogs. I'm not trying to advertise, but it is worth checking
out.

Then forget buying from him/her - report his auction as Final Fee Avoidance
to protect other, more naive potential buyers, from geting into this scam...

Choose one of many other honest eBay sellers instead, offering a complete
RO/DI 100gpd units for under $100 with the shipping included!
There are tens if not hundreds to choose from... some even with clear
containers and optional pressurized tanks for drinking water collection.

Check this newsgroup archive - there are several group members who
purchased their units on eBay and are very satisfied with purchase.

Recetly, Chip wrote here
about his experience with two eBay purchases of RO/DI units and he is happy.

Be carefull and you could save a lot of money but don't let cons get you :-)
Good luck!

Well... is there a question you wanted to ask, Volux, or a comment to add here ?

To where? If it is being shipped to Australia, it will be a lot. If it
is in the continental U.S. shipping is less.

When my RO/DI units are shipped via UPS, costs vary depending on how far
they ship from Florida. People in California and Seattle seem to be the
highest, unless I ship one to Canada occasionally.
