What do people find to be the best algae eaters, snails or hermit crabs.
Any recommendations on types of snails or hermit crabs would be appreciated.

Thanks

Snails for algae on the tank glass/rockd

I recently purchased a Sea Hare. He scoured the rocks of all my pest
algae. Great cleaner for sure

If you decide to get more snails go for the true turbo snails, sometimes
known as Mexian turbos - much better algae eaters than the astrea.

I had a girlfriend like that once. I dumped her.

But seriously, folks... I had a bad problem with hairy green algae,
and I added about 12 redlegged hermits and t huge Mexican snails and
cut back the lights (20K halide) from 11 hours/day to about 8
hours/day and a couple weeks later almost all my hairy green algae is
gone.

Thanks for the recommendations, I have a lawnmower blenny, I think I will
try and find some emerald crabs and some mexican turbos and see if that
helps at all.
