These pumps come with a ceramic shaft this is hard to replace. Unlike metal
shafts they wear out. I've had one on back order now for over 3 months. My
husband made one from a coat hanger that does allow the pump to work. This
is the last Tetra pump I will ever buy. Tetra will not sell to people
directly.

My guess, location, location, location. The survivors were probably the
furthest from the inflow. ~ jan

Thats what you get for thinking. Ceramic shafts will last longer under
most conditions than a stainless shaft will......You really need to
cooking and doing the laundry and not conjure up such nonsense that
you do not have a clue about. Odds are your hsaft was broke due to
owner abuse or negligence........or your failure to do what should
have been done and doing it correctly.......
