doesn't Big Al's have a Canadian operation? Or maybe they are
strictly Canadian, I forget.

With my connections, I've never had to buy anything online yet ;~), but
many of my friends do. For live fish, you want to avoid border delays,
but I haven't seen a steady source of fish in Canada, so you just might
have to risk US orders (but don't order in the middle of winter!).

For non-alive fish-related items, I'm less concerned about who takes the
order. They might even have a Canadian warehouse or distribution, and
the cdn dollar is quite good now anyways. Commonly mentioned are
www.aquariumfish.net
www.thatfishplace.com
www.aquabid.com
and I see
www.bigalsonline.com
used quite a bit locally.

I suggest you wait until posters with more experience chime in.
