View Full Version : Bulb Sizes Needed

I have a power compact with 96 watt bulbs they consist of two bulbs
for daylight and two actinic.
I thought they took a daylight of 10000 k but all my corals started to
close and eventually die after a year and a half of success.
I was told my k's was too high, the original bulbs was approximately
6,000k or so . They are 36 inches and the tank is 40 gallons. Any
suggestions.

PC bulbs have to be replaced every 12 months. Your corals decline could be
attributed to the older bulbs, but I doubt that is the only cause.

10,000K and 03 (actinic) is very common and works well for many reefers.
