I added a long flat piece of live rock two days ago and today I noticed that
underneath on the bottom of it are a bunch or larger air bubbles. Is this an
indicator of something wrong?

Are you talking about those bubble that float up from the sand bed or trap
underneath the rockwork? Normally those are gas that need to be release. Any
sand critter that crawd on and in the sandbed will trigger the release of
gas (nitrogen or nitrous oxide).

Yeah that could be it I guess.I have the rock suspended about 6 inches from
the sandbed so I guess bubbles could easily come out of the sand.
