what your gold has is a tumor, this will not go away on its own.. It might be though a lump that is full of worms.. Some golds get these often. I use DesaFin in my pond monthly to insure that my golds do not get this. You dont' say if they have ever been out side in a pond so I am assuming they are always in a aquarium..Golds eat their waste so they get the ugly parasites from the inside out.. YOU can stil use the DesaFin to treat them with, just be VERY careful as this is for a pond dose and not for a tank.. ONLY a few drops should do you..I am not guaranteeing you a cure, but this will keep the others from getting this..Treat as soon as possible.. Pet smart has this in the pond section Or any place that sells pond supplys..Watch this lump and if it looks to be getting bigger you may want to remove the fish to a smaller tank incase it burst..IF it does, treat with MelaFix ONLY..If it looks to bad, U may have to euthinize the fish..

========================
Goldfish do not eat their own waste (feces) unless perhaps they're starving.
They will pick over the gravel looking for missed bits of food and other
edibles. :-)
