I currently have 2 oscars both approx, 1 year old. so about 8 inches
each, and 1 pl*co @ 12". The LFS i just went to has 3 large oscars, he

didnt know much about them, but the ranged from about 6" to 10". From
other pics I've seen they seem to be a more wild breed. I have a 125
gallon tank, with 2 magnum 350 both with bio wheels. Any one have
experience with 5 or if its a good idea. He's offering me all 3 for
$40, only because he wants to free up his tank

I think that from the size, and the two already establishing their
territory, that you might be in for a world of grief initially. If they
were to settle in then 5 Oscars and a Pleco would be too much for a 125g,
too much bio-load, too much crap generation and too little swimming
space.

I would bargain a bit more with the LFS. Buy the 3 for $40 if they throw
in a store credit for fish food (seems only fair ;~), and that they will
take any trouble-makers back (which may be all 3, but you can count on
bringing at least one back).

I used to get large Oscars for free, and I would sell them for zero to
$60. Retail tanks must either bring in traffic or profit, so if they
have too many Oscars, they are losing money and they might know it.
