I have a pair of Firemouth Cichlids that have spawned twice. The parents
were good in leading their little troop around the tank. The fry do well
for about a week, and then all of a sudden, they're all gone. I don't
know if they aren't feeding and dying or if the parents are eating them.
What is the best food to fee the fry? Can they take baby brine shrimp?

Yes, fresh hatched or frozen. Start feeding them small amounts often, as
soon as they are free-swimming and the yolk sac is consumed.

Ive successfully spawned my Firemouths a few times now. I just grind up
tropical flake to a fine dust .. they can take that just fine. They also
will eat little critters out of your algae, etc.
Re: the fry going missing, mine did that the first few times as well, I
suspect the parents get hungry. You might have better luck seperating the
fry. Or get the parents to spawn in a spare tank, then remove the parents
when the fry start to hatch.
