I recently bought a jar of zooplankton ,to give it a try,but I was wondering
how much should be fed at a time?I have a 55 gallon, with a yellow tang and
various damsells and one purple firefish.

Are you talking about "Freeze Dried Plankton" by San Francisco Bay Brand, Inc?
I have this one and I am not fully happy with it... At first - it flows on
the surface and fish have problems picking it up (or rather down...)
Besides that - as soon as I throw something in my skimmer starts foaming
like crazy - my water column becomes full of small bubbles...
Presoaking recommended by the manufacturer does not help much unfortunately.
In the terms of "how much" - use regular rule of thumb for any other dried
food - feed as much as fish can eat in 2-3 minutes.

do you have any corals? your tang most likely isnt going to eat it
depending on his size but the other smaller fish will.
your zooplankton is very similar to Cyclop-eeze but in a liquid form most
likely. its hard to say what works best for your tank and animals but the
best way is to start with a little and watch your NO3 levels, if they go up
your feeding to much, if they stay the same, you can most likely up the
amount of you feel the desire to do so.
