My convict cichlids eggs have hatched ... what now?

My convicts eggs have hatched. I'm hatching brine shrimp eggs to feed
them and have removed all the other cichlids from the tank other than
the parents. The yolk sacks are still attached to the fry so I haven't
put any baby brine shimp in the tank yet. I am relatively new with
cichlids, but have had other tanks before.

Here are a couple of questions I have:

Can I raise the fry to adulthood without ever removing the parents?
Will the parents make sure the fry eat before eating everything
themselves?

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated

So you want more Convicts... be careful of what you ask for ;~).

Depends on the size of the tank and the disposition of the parents. It's
not black & white, and some fish will tolerate their fry until a certain
point in life. Convicts are generally very tolerant, so bringing the fry
to adulthood is *very* likely.

They don't eat the same stuff. They will coral the fry around to where
they think there is food.

Reduce the aquatic noise and water flow a bit as the fry do better in
lower turbulence, and the parents communicate with the fry more easily if
there is less vibrations (noise) in the water.

## When their babies hatch they're big enough to eat crumbled flakes or
crushed pellets but brine shrimp are ideal. I don't know about where you
live but there is no market for these cichlids where I live. You can't even
give them away here.

## No. The parents will breed again and again and will start to attack
them. They must be removed.

## The parents wont be interested in baby brine shrimp and crushed flakes
or pellets. Feed them their regular diet if they'll eat. Sometimes they
refuse food when watching over new fry.

## Try and line up a store to take them when they're nickel or quarter
size. The parents will breed over and over and you can't keep them all.
