The male of a mated pair of Ocellaris clowns died (powerhead fatality) and I
want to get another clown to put in with the female still in the tank. What
do you guys think the chances fo them gettign along are? If it is a
problem, what are the chances a local fish store would take the female for
store credit if I were going to buy another pair of clowns?

Thanks, Ed

If you were not to get another unsexed clownfish would it not transform into
a male?

That's my understanding of it...but don't quote it on me. I was told in a
little different scenario than you're in that if there's numerous clowns in
a tank, of the same kind, only 2 will sex, 1 male 1 female. If one dies,
the next unsexed clown then takes the position of the lost one. I'm not
sure how or if that applies to a solo clownfish..they're funky in that way.
