You gotta love this top-off system. The AutoTop Deluxe is a real Cadillac.

Hi,
Your "Cadillac Auto Top-off Deluxe" is a very overpriced float
switch full stop. For it to become an auto top off system you need to
spend quite a bit more money !!!!

Curious, what is this system missing?

Hi Pszemol,
As I said it is just a very expensive float switch, a
small part of a complete system, you will have to supply ether a
solenoid valve or a pump for it to operate and a source of top of
solution. If you wished to combine your top of with the addition of
Kalk as most people do, then it would be a system fraught with danger
due to the likelihood of calcium precipitation. A drip system would be
far better and very much cheaper.

I tend to agree its way over priced for what you get, but then isn't
most anything today. I can understand it not being supplied with a
pump of any kind as everyone has their own choice of what pump is
better and there are a lot of different applications. I like using an
air pump to pressurize a resivoir that contains my top off
water......Small micro sized poly float switches (reversible in
operation to NO or NC are available for under $5.00 each if you look
or from floatswitch.com for around $7.00 each. The extension cord is
like $1.00 at Wal MArt and a relay can be had for under $5 at radio
shack or other electronic parts suppliers...........I have a similar
setup which I have close to that $30 amount into but it sure does not
look like the one listed. Its not anywhere as big and bulky with the
PVC guards etc which give that particular auto topoff a homebrew
look...I do probably have $20 tied up in each of mine and perhaps an
hours labor, but it is a lot more sophisticated and does not have that
home brew look...... Way I look at that top off its got less than
$8.00 worth of parts and 22 dollars labor to slap it
together....something which just about anyone can do as its relatively
simple to do....
