View Full Version : what can I feed brine shrimp?

December 13th 05, 11:38 PM
I know brine shrimp will eat algae and yeast, but I was wondering if I
could feed them things like "enriched self rising flour". That stuff is
really cheap, and the particles are small enough that I beleive the
brine shrimp will eat it. If that won't work, what is the least
expensive thing I can feed them that I can pick up locally?

Thanks

You may want to try regular, non-self-rising flour instead.

How do you feed the flour? Sounds like it would make a mess, clump up,
etc.

Commercially-bred brine shrimp are raised on brewers yeast, available at
any grocery store - just use it very sparingly, as a little goes a long
way. Algae is also good for them, which can be bought live in
concentrated liquid form in bottles or in dried packets at most good
aquarium shops.
