Hi folks,
Is it possible to have too much air in a tank? I have a new air pump, but
the water now has lots of tiny bubbles of air floating in it. My fish
haven't moved in yet.

You could try a coarser airstone which will put out larger bubbles or use a
valve to bleed off excess air. The water shouldn't be roiling madly.

I have heard of gas bubble disease but practically speaking I would say -
"no", that is there is no practical way to over aerate. I pump the full
amount of air possible into 2 air wands the length of my 15 gallon tank in
my fifteen gallon tank, 1 2 inch airstone, and 1 1 inch airstone (this one
one inch airstone gets a moderate amount of air from the airmaster air
pump), with 2 tetra luft pumps and 1 airmaster with 2 outlets. I get a pile
of bubbles on the top of my 15 gallon tank from this aeration and also have
tons of tiny bubbles all over in that tank. I have been doing this for years
with fancy guppies and kuhli loaches in that tank. You "should" be fine
unless you can beat me at aeration! ;-) Good luck and later!

Thanks for the responses guys. I, of course, thought of the obvious answer
of putting in a valve about 5 minutes after I posted.
Merry Christmas
