I have a 75 ga tank and I eventually plan on putting African chichlids
in it. I think I will get my fish from http://aquariumfish.net/ .
I already have black sand 2 200 watt heaters, some plastic plants and a
large filter with 2 bio-wheels.
Any thoughts

I have an African Cichlid tank. I found the following site very useful
when I was setting it up:-
http://www.malawimayhem.com/
One thing missing from your list is rocks - you need plenty of them and
some more again. African cichlids need caves. I have around 25Kilos of
Ocean rock in my 4 foot tank - it gives plenty of hiding places so that
the less dominant fish can escape the Mbuna infighting.
