You shouldn't limit yourself to one species. Check out www.darrylhanna.com.

IME they (the one in the pic) will eat algae off the glass
Not even :-)
This is a Chromodoridid, Hypselodorid,_Hypseldoris bullockii_ and a very well know
species. It is a predatory 'nuke' and feds mostly off of coral. There are a number of
color variants of this species.

all I can say Boomer is it was a hot pink one with a yellow crown. if it
ate corals in the tank while it was in there, it brought them in a sack
lunch because it was a FO tank.
but who knows could have very well been another type that looked very
similar. I try my best to stay away from them these days because of the
fact I have always had to fish them out of the overflows.

"but who knows could have very well been another type that looked very

More than likely it was some mimic of a flatworm or other sp opistobranch, that is not a
nudibranch. This 'nuke' can't survive on algae and doesn't eat algae any more than you
could or would survive on Maple tree leaves or a Panda bear on tree bark or a Cow trying
to survive on meat. Their digestion systems can't handle it. They just can't switch over
to algae because they are hungry. It dosen''t work that way. There are only two species
of nudibranchs in the world that can feed off algae.

LOLOL. chop, chop, at lettuce slug is not a nudibranch but a "SAPSUCKER" and are called
technically Sacogossans. Almost all of the are herbivores, that feed manly on green algae.
The Lettuce Slug is the most famous_Tridachia crispata_, some times called_Elysis
crispata_.
Just to show what people don't know, look at this;
http://www.marinedepotlive.com/1223734.html
If this was so, then a horse is a cow, or a rat is the same as weasel, this a is a bad
error calling it a nudibranch
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-06/bcap/feature/
The two 'nukes' that eat algae are not common to this hobby, are hard to find and I can't
remember the name of the for the life of me.
"but then Boomer might bite my head off again
for being wrong. "
Nah, just teasing you. If I was biting off your head you would know it. When I get
nasty/biting off ones head, I go right for the throat. There are many issue in this
hobby where one like to use the term IMHO, thus seem to think one should respect that
opinion. I will if it is a option, with merit, usually they just don't understand the
facts or have been misled. The choice of lighting for, the most part, is an example is an
of opinion or maybe water temp or what is the best skimmer. But if some says CO2 affects
the Alk IMHO, it is not an opinion, as it is fact that CO2 does not affect the Alk. So it
goes like this, Boomer says IMHO if sharks don't have meat to eat, they will just dine on
algae, cause they are hungry and do just fine. That is not an opinion, it is fact they
won't. Has anyone proven this to 100 %, no, you don't need to.The term IMHO is used way to
often in this hobby, often as an escape door.I have said IMHO and have been proven wrong
on my opinion, as I did not know enough of the subject.
