Hello all,

Anyone have any opinion on or experience with GARF's "bulletproof
reef"? It's a very simple, low cost system--uses a plenum, 3-4 tubes
of NO flourescent lighting, no sump, no skimmer even for six months.
It seems like a nice alternative to some of the setups you see
online--for instance, any of the Tank of the Month setups on
Reefcentral. As much as I enjoy the hobby, I just can't justify that
type of expense.

So, does GARF's system work? Also, any opinions on their man-made
aragrcrete rock and their grunge?

I have heard lots of good things about their man made rock.......but
its mostly from those that want a reef setup but are tree type huggers
that refuse to buy rock that was harvested from the
oceans.......However their so called Grunge seems to get great praise
by all kinds of users, and comes highly recomended. I find the rubble
etc that my local shop sells to be superior stuff so there is no need.
They do not have a monopoly on the best stuff, as to what it does and
contain, so I do not feel like paying high shipping costs for
something that is available locally for a lesser price.however loca
does not apply to everyone, and in that case, its a good buy...

Can't say about their plenum setup.....Plenum setups from what I
gather in various other forums are about a thing of the past with most
folks, so its not as hot an item as they used to be years ago.....but
they do work.
