I have a 100 gallon tank which I am getting serious about again. The tank
is in great shape and has around 15 fish in it right now. All good
community fish no aggressive types.

But I have been thinking about varying the kinds of critters in it. I found
some shrimp at a local store and at a website plus a freshwater clam.
However I am thinking about the clown loach. It is rated as peaceful but I
have also read that it enjoy s a good snail meal. So the question is will
it go after shrimp and clams??

I am also giving serious thought to get one of my favorite fish, the
Kribensis. So the same question goes for it.

Generally speaking, if a meal can be made of it, then dinner is served.
This applies to Kribs and Clowns (any botia) who are opportunistic, and
depending on how hungry they are, a shrimp or snail is just another meal
(and a clam might be tormented).

In a 100g, if you get the shrimp to reproduce and/or you have lots of
cover and/or the shrimp are large and/or the botia are small, then you
have a chance (ymmv).

ps: Clowns are shoaling fish so you would generally want several kept
together.

Thanks for the info. Well my tank is large and well stock in fake plants an
some good rocks. I do plan to add one or two take trees, have two short
ones know that my Striped Rafael hides in. I might forget the clam and
think about the shrimp more.

Thanks again.
