I was doing some reserch on my new fish, I got 5 Rasbora heteromorpha as
dither fish for my CL loaches. While doing the reserch I came across
somthing odd I read that they like slow gentle water. Well since
yesterday they like to play swim through the air bubbles in witch tosses
them around as they go through they did this constintly for about 4
hours untill they fount the water comming from the filter. Now they play
swimm through both currents and see who dosen't get tossed around.
Another odd note the second smallest one seems to be the alpha witch IMO
is odd seeing as he is lucky to be .5", while the bigest one about 1" is
the one looseing the school the most, except when the littlest one @
..25" gets througn too far from the bubble ride.

is there anything special that I should know about these guys, All I
found in resercing them was they like soft acidic water and temp 24-28c.
I have them in slightly hard alkaline water @ 28c.

Justice,

I've got a thread on here, not too old, titled "Silly Rasboras" all
about my Rasbora heteromorphas. Whoever said they like slow, gentle
water didn't know what he was talking about (from my experience -
though it could easily depend on the genealogy of the individual fish
or how it was raised, I suppose). Mine LOVE fast water to play in.

Can't really say about the "alpha" part - perhaps it's more
personality than size...

My water is about 7.6ph and they don't seem to mind at all. I keep
them at 77*F (which is 25C, I think).

FWIW,

Liz

Mine are in soft acidic water, tougher than my tetras, love playing
in faster water, and you can tell the females as their black marking
is slightly more curved. Not that they show any interest in breeding.

Mine are about 3 years old, some (that I was given) are older.

That's about all I have to say on them!
