the tread was as u stated is : "Storing ocean water"
My question is to those who have used it , and thier input, not storing it!
( the tread is mostly childish bickering anyways- ) but thanks for ur
2cents.

I've not done it myself. I'm not going to drive 1.5 hours
and then try to find unpoluted water to use. But, being
the experimenter that I am, I would definately experiment
with it myslf if I lived right on the coast, as then it
would be a simple trip, and I would be familiar with the
area, and have better odds of getting less poluted water.

Yep, to each his own, hopefully there may be a few that see the pros
and cons in regards to the subject...I'm still a firm believer in
aeration/powerheads, cool dark place and synthetic salts for my use.

Volux from everything I have read if you use it you want to use heaps of
it ie. keep doing large water changes often. Algae growth seems to be
the main problem mentioned but maybe that water has come with high
pollution levels?

I use NSW (natural sea water) in both my tanks (66gal and 30 gal). I
used to go collect it at high tide off the shore but now I have it
delivered to the house and store it in a 60gal food safe container. I
have a small pump (150gph) and a heater to keep it at tank temps for
easy water changes. The water causes me no issues. My bud has used it
in his tank for 5+ years. Storage does not require it to be circulated
or heated. I keep 5 gals in a jerrycan at the office in a closet.
The results speak for themselves....

The water does some in at a lower SG (1.023) but that is what my tank
is used to. I buffer it with a little kalk. I live in Halifax Nova
Scotia, on the east coast of Canada. The water I use is collected from
the mouth of the harbor (Sambro, south of Halifax for those
interested)
