Have done a couple of water changes (40%, two days between) seems to
have livened the fish up but they still exhibit the "lying on the
bottom 'cause it is too much hassle to swim about" behaviour but no
where near as much just noticed the fish have a white "dot" on a fin
(one dot on one fin each, seems more pronounced on the fish that was
most lethargic[further along?]). Does this ring bells with anyone?

Symptoms :- Lying on bottom but swimming OK when disturbed .
White spot on one fin

Levels are OK, pH is around 7.4
Two goldfish in a 5 gal tank (yes I know this is far too small)

Grepping the 'net my initial though was "ah ICH" but it doesn't seem to
have affected the gills at all and it is definately a spot rather than a
sprinkling .

If you suspect flukes try Clout. It's an excellent product and safe if you
use it as directed. It will also kill off other parasites as well as
flukes. Quick-Cure is also excellent but Clout is I believe, a better
choice for flukes. None of my fish has had a fluke problem for at least 4
years now. But then I treat them while in Quarantine so nothing can get a
foothold.....

Wow,... that fish has some beautiful finnage. :-)

Since the dot is so blurry it's hard to even guess what it might be.
