Does anyone have a Kent Maxxima Ro/DI unit running off of a regular sink
faucet, and running deep well water through it? I just got mine, and
I'm having trouble getting product water. I'm getting 90% waste water.
If anyones got one of these post and let me know if you had any trouble
with yours.

What is your tap water pressure?
RO membranes require high water pressure in the range of 40~80 PSI
in order to push water through membrane pores - otherwise you have
all water going back to drain.

Is there a special pump that is mad for RO/DI units. It took me 14 hours
to get 20 gallons of product water. I'll bet i had 80 gallons of waste
water.

You can buy a PSI guage in the plumbing section at Home Depot for about $6. If your source
water is less than 40 psi, you will need a booster / permeate pump.

Check the water temperature as well. Too cold is not good.

If you water pressure is low, you will need to have a RO Pump to increase it
effeciency. Otherwise, it may not be too good for your membrane and your
wallet.

Late reply....
