Have installed 2 x 150wt - 20k MH over my 6x2x2 reef tank this afternoon...
Am a little disappointed at this stage as I thought that it would really
light the tank up (saw the same setup in the shop - had a Big Wow factor!) -
Am also running 4 rows of actinics... (Without these, the MH looked quite
subdued??? MH are approx 10 inches above the water... Any suggestions
please?
PS - Have thrown a bag of carbon in the sump also to polish the water also.

Yep i also put a 20l 400w on my tank adding another 14k 400w to it,
apparently the 20k does not put out too much par ..... the 400w seems to
put out less light then my old 400w vho setup :( oh well, when it dies
gonna put in a 14k....

I would really expect that a 6 x 2 x 2 display tank would need 3 x 250w bulbs to
light it properly. 3 x 175w minimum. But 2 x 150w DE bulbs wouldn't work at
all - I'd return them and buy one of the others suggested above.
You did say Reef Tank, after all. ;)

Stop screwing around and get 2 400w bulbs.
I have a tank that size and I have the lights close to the
right of the tank with vho's covering the total lenght
of the tank for am and pm.
