About three weeks ago I upgraded from 95 W PC to 400W MH. My Ritteri only
expands to about 1/3 his normal open size and is not eating well. This
started about a week ago. Do you think he's just adjusting to the light or
do I have a bigger problem. Also put in a skimmer about a week ago.
Everythig else, corals and fish doing very well.

Is it eating at all?

A few days ago it ate. It grabbed a shrimp today but the clown pulled it
away and then the brissel worm robbed it again, The brissel worms are under
attack from me at this point.

Try feeding it again, if it was perfectly normal prior to the lights
being changed that's causing it to be unhappy. Is it attached to the
rocks or down on the substrate? You may try de-fracting some of the
light getting down to it, kind of like shading it some, if you know what
I mean. I have used floating plastic plants in the past (works pretty
good) just an idea. Keep me posted, I'll check back tomorrow.........
If you have a camera and could take a pictures of it and you tank that
would help.

My bust, I saw the picture kind of out of focus, but still does not look
all that bad. Does look like the tank has been changed a lot. I would
try de-fracting the light some over the next couple days and watch it
very carefully. I still will drop you a line if you would like to
discuss it.

It is looking better. It still won't grab the frozen shrimp that I give it.
I'm heading out now to get some fresh clams and shrimp. I'll keep you
updated.

You are letting the shrimp come to tank temp. ? Sounds like a dumb
question but one must always ask these things. After owning a fish
store for 7 plus years you just never know.
