No....
Algae need some of the basic before it can thrive:
Light (as in more to yellow spectrum [bad spectrum])
Nutrient (like Anmonia / Nitrite / Nitrate or some other type of
ferterlizer).

If your tank have any of those combo, your tank maybe candidate for algae.

it tends to be more along the lines of the red spectrum of light that
promotes algae growth.

but other then that I agree completely with Cap. I have ran my lighting
anywhere from 6hr on/off (duel photo per day) to having it on 16 hrs per
day.

there were a few problems I had with the 6hrs on/off duel photos every day.
one was the fish seamed more stressed to me, like they needed to get X
amount of swimming done in a days time and they were forced into doing this
in 6 hrs and twice a day.. but all corals thrived and grew faster with the
duel photo periods. second and probably the worst is you end up with a dark
period in the middle of the day, and on weekends when I was around the house
I couldn't enjoy the tank during those 6 hrs like I can with it back on the
10hrs per day single photo.

Heehe... actually, I was thinking about yellow and red at that time but
forgotten to include the red. Thanks for that correction and stirring me
straight.
