I have this alge and I have been scrubbing it away for about 2 months.. This
is getting old very fast.. I was wondering if any one has a suggestion on to
rid my tank of this ?? The LFS told me to let it grow and that will allow it
to remove all the nutrients that it feeds on and it will die off.. I have a
problem with this idea.. My evaporation rate is about 5 gal a week.. So I
dont think that the alge will have time to remove all the nutrients in the
water... I also have used SAT bactireia to remove this.. I am useing RO
water from a LFS. I have been told that this is diatom alge.. I am unable to post pics to the newsgroup.

Thank You In advance

Have you test the RO water from your LFS? Also use RO/DI, not just RO. In
addition, make sure you use a proper skimmer for your system.

If it is Green Hair Algae, this is the page to read. And quit scrubbing because
you are simply spreading it everywhere.
