Greetings.
I had a 75 reef for about 5 years, had to move and sell it a while back.
I have been given an Eclipse system 6 by a co-worker that had(still has) a
beta in it.
I've started wondering what it would take to do a nano reef. I googled the
topic and found that most folks had to do DIY lighting to it, and I'm not an
electrician. So, I was wondering, all I want to put in it is a percula
(false) and a shrimp (blood) then about 10lbs live rock, some crushed coral
(1/2 to 1") and a few mushrooms for effect. I like the shrooms and there
are many varieties and colors available in the hobby. I think it would make
a nice tank to look at if done right.
Question is, the lighting is rather weak. T-5 8watt.
are there any better bulbs than the stock one? Does anyone know of a retro
kit perhaps?

Thanks

Custom Sea Life 32watt smartlite retrofit is the defacto for nanos. I have one
in my 7 gal bowfront nano.
