uuuh well how bout i say go to the breeders forum on RC :) way too much typing to share
ALL my experiences.
however the question was where to get them, the best bet is a private exchange, if he is
close to ME, ill be more than happy to send him some for a very small fee plus the cost of
shipping, if not then if he is in the US ill put him in touch with someone closer to him.
the catch of that is live is easier to come by from a small time breeder. though i do have
L strain cysts, i'd have to make some S strain cysts. also this NG is not a very PC place
to be selling stuff so I was trying not to go there too much :)

Sometimes you will find a web site that gives away free rotifers when you place
an order with them ;-). I know of one that has been offering a free sample with
every order. I'm not certain how much longer it will last, but its been going
on 6 months now. If you are not interested in anything but the rotifers, they
can be purchased outright. The store is located in Northern IL.

well, they were the S-strain when I purchased them 4+ years ago... they are my
cultures. I culture them to feed my baby clowns and corals.

It is not very far away from Chicago, so maybe some day
I will pay you a visit... Do you have any shrimps for sale
in your store? I am looking for large size Lysmata amboinensis
(skunk cleaner) and cannot find them anywhere in Chicago area.
Could you list some highlights of your store to additionally
motivate me and my buddy to drive to Elburn? He is big
green brain coral fan ;-)

We are out of cleaners at the moment, but we should have some early next week.

Most every person always says it is definately worth the trip.. They say that
our coral selection is by far the best they have ever seen. Its not the
fanciest store in the state, but definately the most unique. Surge tanks..
surge/tide zones.. look down tanks.refusurges. breeding clowns..... Our web
page needs some work.. Hopefully more work will be done on it today. We have
10times the coral that is actually shown on the page.

so I intended to ask a few Q's about your culture, but got busy
1. what temps do you keep your s-strain at
2. what do you feed them.
3. how do you culture them (mass/continous/modified continous/batch???)
4. what densities are you getting
i know there were more questions that i wanted to ask but ive forgoten them, so if i do
ill ask again :)

>1. what temps do you keep your s-strain at
Room temp(70ish??)
>2. what do you feed them.
Live phyto (DTs) with live phyto, there is no ammonia build up, and with DTs,
no excess phosphates or nitrates.
>3. how do you culture them (mass/continous/modified continous/batch???)
I guess you would say continous.
>4. what densities are you getting
too small to count ;-).. J/K I have never taken any density counts, but I know
that are much denser? (more dense) that what I have prevously purchased..
Using DTs, the cultures stay very healthy and densly populated.
