Eheim 2227

Hi People,

Does anyone have experience with the following i know on some post
people are telling that the Eheim 2227 extracts Co2 out of the water but
how much because my setup present is that i'm not getting the PH under
7,67 with the 2227 turned on day and night so i'm o.k. with a little co2
los with this filter but it looks like the filter removes a lot of co2
out of my water

is there anybody with experience on this ?? please reply

The 2227 is a wet/dry filter so I suppose would allow more CO2 to "gas off"
than say a normal cannister would. If this is your only filter you should
never turn it off. Even if it isn't your only filter if you turn it off you
run the risk of it going bad if there is water inside. I'm not particularly
familiar with the way in which the W/D filters work.

Another thing that will cause CO2 loss is a lot of surface turbulence in the
tank so try & reduce that if you can.

I have moved the output of the 2227 to the middle of the tank hopefully
this will help in the CO2 loss..
