Marc Levenson

I know it has been a while since I posted in the newsgroup, so I just
wanted to say hi to the regulars, and hope all of your reefs are doing well.

My own 280g is doing quite well, compared to what it was about 6 months
ago when everything was soaking in phosphate soup. It took months to
get the levels down where they belonged, and now they are staying put
since the first of the year.

I tried to do a search to see if anyone was talking about me or asking
me any questions, but my newsgroup reader (Thunderbird) seems to
indicate there are no such messages. So, if I missed your post and
you'd still like to get my input, you can repost it now by replying.

Here are a few pictures that I've recently taken from my tank under the
new ReefLux 10,000K 250w bulbs.

WB, marc. As always, I'm in awe of your reef, particularily that sun
coral. I intend to get one, but I have had no luck finding one in
this town that doesn't look half, if not 2/3 dead.

Billy, if you find one that isn't in great shape, you might be able to
get it at a discount. Bring it home, and feed it often and soon you'll
have a beauty as well.

Marc
PS: When I replied, it didn't quote the entire discussion, only your
thoughts. That's different.

Mark,
Nice to read you again :)
Question: did your Rose BTA survive the love affair with the clown? I
just found out that my male Clarki literally raped the anemone every
noght for over a week now. The poor thing is in terrible shape...

Yuriy

Hi Yuriy,

No, the Rose didn't survive that encounter. I put an LTA in that tank a
few months ago, and it has put up with both clowns somehow. It isn't
nearly as large as it was for the previous owner, but it still has color
and seems okay to me. I need to try feeding it more often to make their
home a little larger.

Hi Cindy,

It is a Fuji S602Z, which came out a couple of years ago. And then I
run my images through photoshop, like this:

There's an old Billie Holiday song called "Please don't talk
about me when I'm gone." Nevertheless, your absence was
conspicuous.

My 55 gallon is surprisingly calm, no new problems, a rare
death and an occasional tuft of green stuff, but I think
it's actually (dare I say it?) stable.

By the way, Marc, I'll be visiting the usual watering holes
in Dallas next month.

Take a look at this page: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/
There are some decent PS tutorials on color correction also.

Ruth, you should finally come visit if you have the time. I'm glad to
hear your tank is doing well.

There are 12 or 13 fish in the reef currently.

Blonde Naso
Purple Tang
Hippo Tang
2 blue mandarins (blue male, reddish female)
2 false percula
True Percula
Longnose Hawkfish
Six Line Wrasse
Blue Damsel
Copperband Butterfly
Lemon Meringue Wrasse

I think that is it.

The house on the island ended up past the "51% damaged" assessment.
So it's got to be torn down. And the cost per/sq/ft to build on the
Island at this time is CrAzY.
Got a bid in on a house in Gulf Breeze Proper as we speak.. <fingers
crossed>
The housing bubble down here is finally getting a little more reasonable
to deal with.
