Substratae thoughts ?

have just set up my latest marine tank using a crushed oyster shell and
sand mix............ Is this going to be ok ??

It's only a thin layer of course. My other tank uses coral grit but I
fancied a change......... Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on this

Since you are on the reefs newsgroup, I assume you are setting up a reef
tank and if that is the case don't do it. crushed oyster shells have a
lot of phosphates in them. I would highly suggest setting up a fine
grained deep sand bed (dsb).
