Anything to make one work a bit better?

I'd like to hear too.

But just wanted to say that the upgrade for the surface skimmer is a
complete waste of money unless you a: don't have a top that will
interfere with a much larger tube or b: don't intend on keeping the
tank full of water. It doesn't pull enough water in to even start to
keep the surface clean.

I wasted my money.

1 thing I tried was adding a handfull of 1" bio balls to the 1st
chamber. It did increase the amount of bubbles and seems to be
skimming a bit better.

First get rid of the skimmer cup. It doesnt do anything for ya and it makes
skimming much harder.

Next, if you can, make the water level come up only to the plastic lip on
the intake tube. I did this by making this an in sump skimmer. Got a 10
gallon tank divider which the skimmer hangs on. This goes right in the
middle of my 10 gallon sump.

While on my 46 gallon+5 it does do a great job, the skimmer however is
constantly pulling a lot of DOC out of the system. I really need a bigger
skimmer (ho hum... lol)

I agree waste of time but the media chamber helps when full of floss. Prizm
= waste of money, no wonder my LFS gutted theirs and refuse to sell them.

Once I got it set and broken in, I have had rather good performance from my
Prizm. YMMV, I suppose.
