Is there anyone else out there that has jellyfish in their tanks? I have
hundreds of them. I believe they are Casseopia as they seem to like lying
"head" down on the sand pulsing. The largest is approx 1.5 cms across and
still growing. I would be grateful for any info on keeping them.
BTW I have a smallish 30 gallon tank which is now devoid of fish (due to an
air pump failure while we were away for the day), no live rock and the only
other inhabitants are two hermits.
TIA,
Jed

They are photosynthetic and consume zooplankton.

They are probably some hydroids that are in the medusa stage.

Interpet Book of Marine Inverts states:
"....can reach up to 30cm in diameter.....tentacles are filled with
bladderlike growths covered in zooxanthelae.....needs intense
lighting.....can suppliment with newly hatched brine shrimp and a good
liquid feed. However.....rarely lives long in an aqurarium...best left to
experienced aquarists"
Good luck.
