hello

I put two peaces of 'toast' pulse in my tank about 10 days ago and both
were doing well (better than they were in the shop).
after a few days i saw the odd pulse head & stalk floating aroud the tank.

a couple of days later pules no.1 was detached from its rock while no.2 was
still looking good. Supper glued no.1 back to rock. Next day no.2 is off its
rock.

Any ideas what or who may be affecting this coral?

Tank 4x2x2 + sump has always been a reef tank and is established 6 years. It
has the following;
1 copperband
5 Chromis (medium)
1 bannana Wrasse
1 yellow Tang
1 flash head blennie
1stripped blennie
2 small clowns in a red bubble anenome (anenome doing well)
1 arrow crab
assorted snails
corals;
medusa coral that is growing rampantly
Zenia also now established (added 6 weeks ago)
1 leather coral which we have to keep splitting

I use tropic marine pro reef salt water changes every two weeks (max
duration) add iodine and strontium have a wear and tower sump with calcium
reactor and skimmer. There is an auto top up system, only RO water is used
thoughout.

It sounds like you are talking about Pulsing Xenia perhaps? It spreads
naturally, and I've never successfully glued it to anything.

I wedged a small piece into a hole in a rock once, it's since expanded and
split into three large pieces. This was one of three attempts to make one
stay put.

Xenia grows upward toward the lights. If you put a rock next to the stalk, it
will grow up and onto the new rock.
