Hey all,

I just got an ecosystem style sump/refugium and I wanted to know if
there was a DIY method or an existing sand/mud mixture that I could
use as a substitute for the miracle mud. The price for miracle mud
seems really high, but I don't want to ruin the setup by using a cheap
substitute. I dont want to spend $400 for 40 lbs of mud if I can get
it or make it myself cheaper.

Thanks in advance,

Joel

You could just use some Southdown sand and a cup of LS from your display tank.
It would save you a lot of money and work equally effectively.
