Okay, my 75 gallon is set up and running. Salinity and PH are good, sump has
been running for several days, no leaks, looks good, still have some noisy
overflow issues to work on, but oh well.
My plan is to aquire some LR and a damsel or 2, perhaps blue damsels.
Welcome suggestions.

LR first, then add the fish - after the rock is happily
situated in the tank. Even is you buy it "cured", which you
should, transportation can be tough on it.

Less of an issue if you buy the rock at the LFS. But, LR
direct from the collector is the best plan.

Any suggestions on how to go about finding a collector? There is really only
one store in this town to buy LR.

You have to search the web. Sorry 'bout that. I bought
mine years ago, don't even remember from whom. Someplace in FL.

Maybe others here can pitch in about (good/bad) LR
collectors they've used in the last year?

First, look for pictures, choose your style. Branches,
boulders, plates?

Then sort out the vendors, read their descriptions, look at
their pictures, compare. Call 'em up, ask questions. Then,
pick your poison and run down to the nearest airport to collect.

In Hind sight I wish I had not gotten the damsels. They're aggressive and
you get tired of them very quickly.

If I were to do it again, I'd cycle with the shrimp method and get a Maroon
clown or two AFTER the cycle was complete.

Sorry, I cant comment on the LR vendors due to lack of experience.

**********End Of Post*************
Hi Billy.
I used to cycle with Mollys, but always ended up moving them to another tank and dealing with
the mass of babys, the wife loved it but flooding the local stores bacame a pain. Last 4 tanks
I dropped in a yellow tail damsil at first with no prob. These are extremely hardy fish.
As far as aggressiveness goes I never have had a problem. On the new tank I rushed and dropped in 2
baby percs( I was foolish couldn't resist) there was very little rock, and the damsil tortured them to death.
I have since added 30lbs of rock and the damsil is keeping her spot and not adventuring.
I personally like Yellow tails but thats me.

Build yourself a standpipe to quiet down that overflow. I prefer to
use a 1/8" pvc needle valve with an airline running out of the canopy
over his drilled hole (salt creep will change his design over time).

Can't really help you with a local LFS. However, if you're willing to
mail order, Inland Aquatics (http://inlandaquatics.com) has a good
reputation, Reefer Madness (http://reefermadness.us) is building a
decent reputation. For great live rock and some inverts, Tampa Bay
Sal****er (http://tampabaysal****er.com) has an awesome reputation and
an ethical product.

All IMHO.

Ross
