Anyone ever used one of these "Silent Overflow" units? I'm concerned about
the accuracy of the name of this product, particularily the claim that it is
"silent". This thing makes more noise than mating cats. There are two drain
'towers' in the outer box, one is the drain, the other is a 'backup' in case
the first is plugged. The main 'tower' has a 'cover' with a hole in the
middle and a rigid plastic tube that you are supposed to move up or down to
set water depth in the outer box. It just drops all the way down, (gravity
and all, you know) so no go there. It currently seems to have two settings:

Option 1: main tower 'vapor locks' and all water flow goes down 'backup
tower' making loud draining noise.

Option 2: Water goes down main tube, but is accompanied by horrible sucking,
slurping, retching noises that can be heard over ZZ Top's Velcro Fly at damn
near full blast.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, it's gonna keep us awake at night.

Lynard Skynard maybe???

your best bet it to take the "float-ah-ma-giggy" thing out of the primary
overflow and see what it does then, if its still loud make a durso standpipe
for it. you can google for durso if its a mystery to you.
