I got a light bulb that is 13 watts with 800 lumens. Do you think that
will work?

Do you have to change those every 6-10 months like VHO and other bulbs (due to spectrum shift, right?), or can you really leave them in 6 years?

I don't know. I called the maker of the bulb I posted, and asked them for the Kelvin
rating. I wanted to know what color spectrum was being provided.

If it is 13w, what is the output equivalency?

Replace the bulb which ever come first.
Spectrum shift or Algae start going or showing aging.

Better to change early before bad thing start to happen.
Same as car oil change.

Well, in this case, the worst thing that can happen is the algae STOPS growing.
Macro aglae, that is.
