I own a 72 gallon bow front tank with overflow, trickle filter, 20
gallon sump. I had to dismantle and sell the livestock when I moved
here to Tucson. I had live rock and fish with great success.

I just found a great deal one a 55 gallon stocked tank with a 48
Coralife light (2 x 24" 10,000 k 65 watt lamps and 2 x 24"actinic 65
watt lamps, lovely live rock, fish, a great skimmer, filter, heater,
et al for 500.00. The tank has been set up for 1 year and has some
nice mushrooms, anemone, and some others. I bought it for the fish,
skimmer, and rock.

Now the question:
Can I move the lights and coral to my 72 gallon tank. How much will
these lamps support reef wise? I would be happy to have a few corals
and fish along with live rock. I do plan on buying more rock and live
sand.

Thanks for any help.

What are you planning on keeping in the tank?

Fish and live rock. If these lights are enough to support inverts, I
would love to add some more Anemones, clams, maybe a starfish or so, I
am open to suggestions. I loved my fish and rock only tank and did
very well with it. I had clowns, a tang, a great tassle file fish,
small puffers, cardinal fish, blennies, a hawk, and wrasse. I now some
of these fish are not reef safe so I would not add them. The tank I
bought come with 2 tangs, 2 clowns, damsels, and 2 cardinals, along
with shrimp and craps.

I don't think there are many corals you can keep under that amount of
light, but i have two of these same fixtures on my 75 and all my corals
are doing great. Maybe you could buy another coralife if it will fit on
your tank then you can put some cool corals in there. Keep us posted.
