View Full Version : Euroreef ES5-2 and sump/refugium for a 75 gallon?

So is this the ideal choice? A 75 gallon reef with a yet to be
determined sump of about 15 yo 30 gallons. Says it's rated for 90
gallons but usually these estimates are...optamistic at best. If this
is not the best what is in that same price range for this sort of
setup? Looking for the 300 price rage. Also does anyone here know of
the best place to get a custom sump/refugium at a reasonable price?

John, I am in the proccess of setting up an acryllic shop. If you want to
wait a few weeks to a month and be a guinea pig, I'll make you one any way
you want it and only charge you for the cost of the materials.

I'm confused,,, WHAT says it's rated for 90 gallons? The Euroreef ES5-2? I
thought they were rated for 75.

I strongly recommend the Aqua-C skimmers. You could pick up the EV-120 for
under $300 or you could opt for the Urchin/Remora Pro (In sump/hang on) for
closer to $200

Thanks Mystery Man!
Yes Marc is "the elite" no doubt, and I emailed him yesterday
but have received no reply as of yet. He was actually in the group
when last I stopped by here about two or three years ago and is, and
was very helpful. The only problem is I have neither the tooling nor
experience to spend a ton of money wasting acrylic which will in the
long run probably cost me twice as much. Thanks so I appreciate the
advice.

Could be. I got the rating from either marine depot or premium
aquatics, not sure which but one of them said it was rated for 90.
Could be that they decided to raise it usefulness based on the same
complete lack of research that every other skimmer rating is based on
;^P

Hi Mort,
..>I strongly recommend the Aqua-C skimmers.
Have you ever tried anything else? I was justy curious, because I am in the
process of swapping out the the only Aqua -C that I have running. Its an older
model, but I dont find them to work as well as what some people claim

Hey great, I look forward to a reply but none as of yet, this "reply
to" is valid also the one I mailed you from. I really hope to get this
tank going within a month or two before I spend the rest of my
disposable income on other things ;^P
This tank has been an ongowing evolution for almost a year because I
was just not devoted to getting it all done and I know if I don't do it
before summer it'll be another year.
