About 3 inches maybe a little smaller.
I believe it to be a female. The dorsal fin is no where near as long as I
have seen them on other green madarins...
Thats the only way i know of telling. I bet its not very accurate tho... But
i can hope... :D

on any male mandarin older than about 9months give or take 1, the primary dorsal fin on a
male has a spike the leading edge extends past the rest of the fin. except when real
young or damaged by other fish, its 100% acurate
