Noisy Mag 5 ?

Does anyone know how to get a Mag 5 to run quieter? I've padded it, set it
on a cushion base and it still sounds like a rattle. I checked for
cavitation, modulated the outfeed to no avail. It still makes the sound
when disconnected from the plumbing. It doesn't sound terminal, just
annoying.

Have you pulled it apart and checked for excessive wear on the impeller ? If
the shaft gets worn or the hole in the impeller starts to wear and open up,
it will vibrate and make all kinds of noise.
